What Are My Rights As A Tenant?

As a tenant, you have several rights protected under the Rental Housing Act and common law.

Right to a written lease agreement – The lease agreement clearly outlines the terms and conditions, including the rental amount, duration of the lease, and payment terms

Right to Habitable Dwelling – The landlord must ensure the property is habitable. This includes the upkeep of the property.
